Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 5, 2026 • Effective Date: January 1, 2026

1. Overview & Commitment to User Privacy

At TimeMate ("we", "us", "our", accessible at https://timemate.dev), we respect your personal privacy. TimeMate is designed as an in-browser, client-side world clock and timezone overlap coordination application. We do not require account registration, do not request your personal name, passwords, or phone numbers, and do not store your private meeting schedules on our database servers.

2. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising Disclosures

We may partner with third-party advertising companies, including Google AdSense, to display advertisements when you visit our website. To comply with Google's publisher policies, please note the following required disclosures:

  • Third-Party Vendors & Cookies: Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites on the Internet.
  • Google Advertising Cookies: Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to TimeMate and/or other websites on the Internet.
  • Opting Out of Personalized Advertising: Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Alternatively, users can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at networkadvertising.org.

Note: If you have not opted out of third-party ad serving, the cookies of other third-party vendors or ad networks may also be used to serve ads on this site.

3. Analytics & Performance Monitoring

We use Google Analytics to monitor aggregated, non-personally identifiable site usage metrics (e.g., page views, session duration, device type, and referring sources). This helps us understand how visitors use our timezone comparison tools and optimize performance.

Google Analytics collects data using cookies. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits by disabling cookies in your browser or installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4. Local Storage & Client-Side Preferences

TimeMate uses your browser's local storage (localStorage) to save your custom scheduling settings locally on your device. These settings include:

  • Your selected home city and default pinned cities
  • Your preference between 12-hour (AM/PM) and 24-hour military time display
  • Custom city labels or department tags you define
  • Dark mode or light mode visual preference

This data remains strictly on your machine and is never transmitted to our remote servers. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser cache and local storage.

5. Rights for European (GDPR) & California (CCPA) Users

Depending on your location, you may possess statutory rights under privacy frameworks such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to Access & Portability: Since we do not maintain accounts or user databases, we hold no personal profile data associated with your identity.
  • Right to Deletion: You can purge all local tool preferences by clearing your browser cookies and site storage.
  • Do Not Sell My Personal Information: TimeMate does not sell, trade, or rent personal data to third parties.
